Protest Rocks Akure Over Akeredolu's Vacation Order



There was heavy protest in Akure, the Ondo State capital on Thursday as Commercial drivers, individuals from the Nigeria Forest Services known as Forest Guards, Farmers and traders raged the roads fighting on the side of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu orders to herdsmen to vacte Forest reserves in the state within seven days. 


The protesters conveyed bulletins asking the Ondo Governor not to withdraw on his mandate. 


Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Comrade Jacob Adejo, said Commercial drivers were not, at this point Safe in the state. 


Adejo said his individuals need assurance as herdermen assaulted them without any potential repercussions as well as kidnapped them before now.
